| Maurice Utrillo is one of the representative painters of Paris School in France. As a unique landscape painter in the 20 th century,Utrillo loves to depict street scenes in Montmartre, northern Paris, and has unique views and opinions on landscape painting.Because of his illegitimate child,he was withdrawn from his childhood and was admitted to a mental hospital for alcoholism after dropping out of middle school.Later, with the help of his mother Valadon,he began to study painting creation on the grounds of treating diseases.Since then,Utrillo’s painting style has gone through four important stages: Montagny,White,Color and Late Creation. There are obvious differences in modeling, composition and color in each stage, and every time the picture style changes greatly,it is inseparable from its unusual life experience and different psychological state. This paper is mainly divided into three parts: introduction, theory and conclusion,in which the theory is divided into four sections, which correspond to the four most important artistic periods in Utrillo’s life.In the four chapters,by introducing the theory of psychological projection of HTP drawing psychology, this paper analyzes the picture characteristics of three main objects in Utrillo’s pictures, namely, houses, trees and people, and makes cross-contrast from the aspects of composition, modeling and color, and deduces his psychological state at the time of creation by combining his personal experiences in different periods.Try to demonstrate the interaction among personal experience, psychological state and painting creation. In this way, from a brand-new perspective of painting psychology,we can understand and analyze the evolution process of Utrillo’s painting style, and study Utrillo’s paintings more deeply. The author thinks that bringing painting psychology into the artist’s case study can provide a new way of thinking, which will have a positive impact on the creator’s self-cognition,and at the same time, combined with his own creative practice,it will bring more possibilities for paper creation. |
