The interaction between postgraduate students and mentors directly affects the quality of postgraduate education.As an important discipline to train international Chinese teachers,the major of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language has cultivated many talents,and the interaction between mentors and master’s students directly affects the quality training of potential Chinese teachers and Chinese teaching volunteers,thus making an important impact on the dissemination of Chinese culture.Based on the training needs of master’s talents in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in Chinese universities,this study explores the interaction between supervisors and postgraduate students and its influencing factors through surveys and interviews.Under the background of the transformation of interaction mode from onset to online during the epidemic,this paper puts forward realistic directions and suggestions for the interaction between supervisors and postgraduate students.Combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,this study investigated the interaction of 161 tutors from Shanghai International Studies University,majoring in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,and explored the relationship between interaction and differences in variables,such as students’ and mentors’ characteristics(age,gender,academic title,whether to hold administrative positions,and the number of guiding students)and interaction characteristics(length,frequency,type,scene,and form).In addtion,this reserach further investigated the evaluation and feedback from students’ and mentors’ perspectives on interaction.The results reveal that current situation of the interaction between the postgraduate students majoring in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language is relatively ideal,and the students are satisfied with the interaction.When it comes to influencing factors,the characteristics of students,including gender,age,and supervisors’ gender,professional title,whether they hold administrative positions or not have no significant impact on the satisfaction of interaction.It’s the interaction type,frequency and initiative of interaction that matters most in students’ evaluation of the interaction relationship.In addition,online interaction did not affect the quality of interaction during the epidemic,instead it improved communication efficiency.Finally,in view of the current status quo and problems of the interaction between postgraduates and mentors,combined with Jürgen Habermas’ s theory of communication action,corresponding suggestions and countermeasures are put forward for the cultivation of postgraduates majored in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in the "post epidemic era". |
