The area responsible for language learning in the human brain is called “Broca’s area”,4-12 years old,is the sensitive period of this area,at this time the stored language will be considered by the brain as a “mother tongue”,that is,this type of language is likely to be quickly mastered and used flexibly by the brain.Educators refer to the ages of 4 to 12 as the critical period for language learning.In China’s school system,6-12 years old is just the primary school stage of basic education.Therefore,English learning at the primary school level is particularly important,teachers should seize the critical period of language learning,follow the law of students’ cognitive development,innovate teaching models,improve teaching methods,ameliorate teaching methods,pay attention to cultivating students’ interest in English learning,attach importance to listening and speaking,weaken reading and writing,let students learn English in a relatively relaxed and pleasant atmosphere,and finally let students love English,take the initiative to learn English,and be willing to use English for conversation practice,so as to lay a solid foundation for students’ future English learning.The New Curriculum Standards(2022)emphasize theme-based teaching,mainly including three major areas: man and self,man and society,and man and nature.Among them,“People and Society” takes “Society” as the perspective,sets up “Social Services and Interpersonal Communication”,attaches importance to peer interaction,mutual respect,friendship and mutual assistance.This is achieved by the form of cooperative learning in our classrooms.It is not only conducive to the English learning of primary school students,but also conducive to cultivating students’ cooperative ability and planting seeds for the formation of students’ core competence.Therefore,focusing on the characteristics of our school,based on students’ learning conditions,integrating the anchored teaching concept into English cooperative learning,and promoting the organic combination of cooperative learning and anchored teaching concepts,it is of great practical significance to promote their language ability and communication ability and improve the effectiveness of cooperative learning.In view of this,this paper proposes the cooperative English learning of intermediate and advanced primary school students under the concept of anchored teaching.Based on the teaching practice of primary education,the author is committed to understanding the attitudes and views of intermediate and advanced primary school students and primary school English teachers on the implementation of cooperative learning in English lessons in primary school,excavating its implementation status,discovering its existing problems,analyzing its internal causes,and proposing effective optimization strategies based on the analysis results combined with education and teaching practice.Based on the concept of anchored teaching,based on the relevant theory of cooperative learning,this study takes 265 students and 3 English teachers in the fourth,fifth and sixth grades of a primary school in Zigong,Sichuan Province as the research objects,and uses literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,interview method,observation method and other research methods,starting from the reality of primary school English cooperative learning,analyzes the background of English cooperative learning of intermediate and advanced primary school students under the concept of anchored teaching,and puts forward the research purpose and research significance of this thesis.This paper expounds the current research status of cooperative learning in English teaching at home and abroad,as well as the theoretical basis of this research.Based on the actual English teaching of a primary school in Zigong,through data analysis,it is found that there are the following problems in the current primary school English cooperative learning;The creation of situations in cooperative learning is insufficient;The problems identified in cooperative learning are not clear enough;The independent learning in cooperative learning is not enough;The collaborative learning in cooperative learning is insufficient;The effect evaluation in cooperative learning is not reasonable enough.Aiming at the problems of English cooperative learning for intermediate and advanced primary school students under the concept of anchored teaching,this paper puts forward optimization strategies to promote cooperative learning: Create a good cooperative learning situation;The problem of cooperative learning should be clear;Enhance the autonomy of cooperative learning;Enhance the collaborative learning;Improve the evaluation mechanism of cooperative learning.Finally,this study is summarized. |
