This translation assignment is based on chapters 17 to 21 of the Handbook of the History of Money and Currency.which aims to convey information about the origins, development and characteristics of national financial currencies. Each chapter is a separate academic paper with a well-presented and logical language. The translator focuses on the analysis of aesthetic and aesthetic representation in financial texts and summarizes the aesthetic representation problems as well as corresponding solutions. The source text has strong academic features. In order to ensure precision and rigour of expression as well as imagery, the text makes frequent use of synonyms, nearsynonyms and abbreviations to make the sentences more vivid and precisive, and to serve an aesthetic purpose. This report therefore focuses on the aesthetic representation in financial texts by fulfilling the task of conveying the content of the message as well as presenting the aesthetic features in the source text. The author analyses this mainly at the lexical, sentential and logical levels. In terms of vocabulary, the focus is in the translation of synonyms and polysemous words, mostly using a direct translation method to present the style of the original text.At the sentence level, the translator concentrates on the abbreviations and near-synonyms,and uses the zero-translation method and omission translation technique to make the translation both accurate and readable. In terms of logic, the translator focuses on the use of addition translation techniques.Through this translation practice, the translator has gained a better understanding of the textual characteristics of financial texts and the aesthetic representation in translation.Based on the translation practice, the translator has generalized the relevant translation strategies and methods, hoping to provide some reference for the English translation of similar texts in the future.
