A Practice Report On The C-E Translation Of Research On Development And Protection Of Forest Tourism Resources In Jilin Province(Chapters Ⅱ&Ⅲ)

This practice report is based on the Chinese-English translation of Research on the Development and Protection of Forest Tourism Resources in Jilin Province(Chapters II & III)by Zhang Luhong.The book introduces the current situation of the development and protection of forest tourism resources in Jilin Province and the existing problems,countermeasures and suggestions.The original text is an academic work on tourism resources.It is a typical informative text with accurate wording and straightforward language.The author analyzes the problems she encountered while translating and offers the corresponding solutions.The book,in its introduction to tourism resources in Jilin Province,is rich in proper nouns on tourism.The author adopts three methods:(1)transliteration plus literal translation,(2)transliteration plus literal translation plus annotation and(3)literal translation to faithfully convey the information in the original text.As for the translation of non-subject sentences,the author tries to make them conform to the English expression habits by adding subjects or shifting them into passive voice.At textual level,in order to enhance the readability of the target text,the author adopts the methods of adding adverbs and conjunctions as well as logical reorganization for semantic coherence and cohesion.Through this translation practice,the author hopes to improve her language ability and translation ability and provide some reference for the translation of academic texts related to tourism resources in Jilin Province.
