Nowadays, the COVID-19 epidemic is still raging around the world, and the economic development of all countries has showed a serious recession.Under this circumstance, the recovery and rapid development of China’s economic have important strategic significance. It can not only provide a model for other countries’ economic recovery, but also shows the advantages of China’s political and economic system. Therefore,to further spread China’s current political and economic development ideas to the world, political and economic translation is very necessary. The report was written by discussing the significance of the Correlative Approach to Translation in the translation of the ninth chapter of Political Economy of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics through specific translation examples. The ninth chapter of this political and economic work analyzes the causes and prospects of China’s sustained and rapid economic development in recent years and introduces many economic development path with Chinese characteristics, which is more applicable to the current world economic background compared with other chapters. Moreover,The Correlative Approach to Translation is a translation theory formally proposed by Peter Newmark in 1994.Its core definition is that“The more important the language of the original or source language text, the more closely it should be translated",which combines Newmark’s semantic translation theory with his communicative translation theory. This paper analyzes the specific translation techniques from lexical, grammatical, and textual level. The translation techniques at lexical level include omission and the processing of parts of speech in English and Chinese. At the grammatical level, the translator needs to reorganize and supplement the sentence on the basis of clarifying the logical relationship between the sentences. The textual translation mainly emphasizes the internal hierarchical relationship of the text and achieves the structural cohesion in translation by means of repetition and order. Finally, the author summarizes the practice of translation under the guidance of Corrective Approach and puts forward problems still to be solved. |
