| Digital information technology enables people to quickly know what happens around the world without visiting the place where the event takes place,and the role of news translation plays in this process can not be ignored.The translator chooses the second chapter of News Media Translation by Federico Zanettin as the source text for this translation project.The chapter traces the development of journalism,briefly describes the operation mechanism of international news agencies and national news media,explores the role and the visibility or invisibility of translation in the process of news production and dissemination,and elaborates on some key issues and concepts in news media translation.The translation project is guided by the three rules of Skopos Theory(the skopos rule,the coherence rule,the fidelity rule).The translator addresses the lexical and discourse difficulties of the source text in the light of these three rules with the following methods.Transference and paraphrasing are used to handle the translation of proper noun and neology;the intralingual coherence and interlingual coherence of the source text are achieved by shift,idiomatic translation,variation translation and sentence restructuring.The translator spares no efforts to make the target readers enjoy the same reading experience as the source language readers to the greatest extent,hoping to provide a useful reference for scholars devoted to news media translation study and practitioners in the news industry. |
