Research On Wang Baixin's Poems And Essay

Wang Baixin was a famous scholar and litterateur in the Late Qing Dynasty.He experienced the four dynasties of Jiaqing,Daoguang,Xianfeng,and Tongzhi,and witnessed the turbulent situation of the Late Qing society,with internal and external troubles.Wang Baixin wrote his life experiences,insights,profound thoughts,and governance strategies into his poetry which combined his own experience and knowledge.His poetic thoughts were rich in content that both literary and realistic,and had a certain impact on the literature and politics of the Late Qing Dynasty.This article takes Wang Baixin’s poetry and prose as the research object,explores the value of his poetry and prose in the history of modern literature,and explores the close relationship among Wang Baixin,the transformation and development of modern Chinese society which bases on in-depth exploration and analysis of his works.This article is divided into five chapters: The first chapter introduces and examines Wang Baixin’s life experience and social contacts.Taking his life experience in Beijing as a dividing point,this article briefly describes his life in four periods: "youth and schooling" "imperial examination and roaming" "passing the provincial civil service examination under the old Chinese examination system and official status",and "returning to hometown and teaching".Combining his works,this article focuses on investigating his rich travel and communication,and analyzes the impact of his rich travel and extensive communication on his creation.The second chapter analyzes Wang Baixin’s poetry creation from two aspects: the ideological content and artistic characteristics.Exploring the rich ideological content of his poetry creation,mainly including depicting natural scenery and historical sites,describing rural farming and idyllic pleasures,recounting social experiences and sad realities,recounting family and friends,expressing the sadness of traveling and wandering,and discussing the gains and losses of ancient and modern times and the fate of ancient people.What’s more,summarizing the artistic characteristics of his poetry,such as integrating scriptures and allusions,making good use of images,being wanton and unrestrained,being elegant in style,rich in genre,diverse in techniques,and having a genuine and lasting feeling.The third chapter studies Wang Baixin’s prose creation,starting from the ideological content and artistic characteristics of his prose,exploring the rich ideological content of his prose,mainly manifested in expressing political opinions,pointing out the shortcomings of the Late Qing Dynasty,expounding literary ideas and praising loyalty,filial pietyand righteousness.It also analyzes the artistic style and features of his prose,which is characterized by orthodoxy,far-reaching ideas,sincere emotions,detailed historical data and practical use.The fourth chapter mainly elaborates on the Confucian connotation of his poetry and prose creation,which is reflected in the study and promotion of Confucianism,authentic recording and criticism of society,the Confucian color of character evaluation,and the Confucian expression of ethical kinship.The fifth chapter discusses Wang Baixin’s literary thoughts in poetry and prose creation and analyzes his literary views of advocating Chinese classics into poetry and prose,emphasizing the expression of emotions as the foundation,advocating writing force in poetry and prose,and advocating poetry theory that one gains depth after suffering.
