This paper discusses the "benevolence" and "fraternity" is the Confucian thought of "love" and the Western Christian "love" ideology. Confucian ethics, "love" and the Christian ethics of "love" on behalf of Eastern and Western civilizations are loved and thought the emotional essence of human civilization in the long course of history played a huge role in modern society will also continue to play a role.This article analyzes the history of ideas derived, and the two main elements. The Confucian idea of love started from Confucius, the latter after Mencius, Xunzi, Dong, Neo-Confucian thinkers and modern development, its implications are continuously enriched. The main contents of Confucian thought there love the love of family, non-parental love. Christian love embodied in the evolution of thought from the "Old Testament" to "New Testament" changes the interpretation of love. "The Bible" love the main content of the holy love, love God, love neighbors, love enemies, etc., reflect the breadth of love and tolerance.Secondly, the Confucian ideology of brotherhood and Christian love were comparative study similarities and differences. This paper argues that the main difference between the two lies: the social and historical and cultural backgrounds; "love" of the object and scope are different; "love" different form of expression; "love" different ways to realize. Mainly in common between the two: love is a common human emotion; love is a basic value; love with a certain transcendence.Finally, the Confucian benevolence and Christian love the modern sense were discussed. Confucian Kindness to deal with the important principles of modern social relations, it helps promote the construction of modern morality. Christian fraternity thought conducive to promoting the moral improvement and enhance the moral realm; is conducive to establishing respect among people, tolerance and equality relations.
