Research On The Image Of Women In Online Literary Video

Online literature is one of the most active forms of storytelling in China today.Empowered by new media technologies,users’ reading habits have gradually shifted from books to screens,leading to the emergence of online literature videos.In the era of "her",female images have received much attention,and female-oriented romance novels have become a popular form of online literature.In recent years,a large number of videos featuring female-oriented romance novels have emerged on bilibili,displaying diverse and rich female images and thus having high research value.This paper takes feminism and narratology as reference and bilibili female-oriented online literature videos as an example to study female images in online literature videos from four aspects: video overview,image presentation,image construction,and image interpretation.Through analyzing 19 female-oriented romance novel videos on bilibili with over500,000 views,this paper found that online literature videos display characteristics such as diverse creators,rich video content,varied video formats,and good dissemination effects.In terms of the presentation of female images,online literature videos present three popular female images: habit-dependent women,dominant and controlling women,and self-strengthening women.Habit-dependent women are likable,lovedependent,and prioritize love.Dominant and controlling women have excellent abilities,redeem others,and pursue self-realization.Self-strengthening women are selfimproving,independent,and pursue their ideals.These female images are constructed through body narrative,relationship narrative,and scene narrative.By combining database consumption,fan economy,feminism,and other theories,this paper interprets that habit-dependent women occupying the focus reflect the existence of gender stereotypes,the emergence of dominant and controlling women signifies the rise of diverse gender cultures,and the recognition of self-strengthening women reflects the awakening of female consciousness,among other cultural implications.These research results provide a reference for better displaying outstanding female images of the times,promoting a diverse and inclusive gender culture,and constructing a civilized and harmonious online space.They also offer guidance for promoting excellent online literature works,promoting the sustainable development of cultural industries,and spreading excellent Chinese culture.
