At the present stage,with the national emphasis and attention on core literacy,the unique educational value of core literacy is also paid more and more attention in the curriculum reform of various subjects,and English subject research is also exploring multiple paths and dimensions of subject core literacy cultivation,and increasingly taking it as a key principle and important guide for English subject teaching.English subject core literacy includes four aspects,namely language proficiency,cultural awareness,learning ability,and thinking quality.By relying on English language proficiency,students can improve their learning ability and better develop their cultural character and thinking quality,and thus become the basis of English subject core literacy.In the current context of globalization,improving students’ English language ability also helps them to enrich their way of thinking,develop their cultural perspectives,and carry out cross-cultural communication.At present,the English teaching under the mode of "exam-oriented education" requires students to mechanically master the English vocabulary,pronunciation and grammar that can cope with the entrance examination,but ignores the application and practicality of the language,and also ignores the cultivation of students’ ability to use English communication,so that the language learning tends to be "fragmented".In this study,the fifth grade Unit 2story time is taken as the textbook sample,constantly reflecting and improving the teaching design in teaching practice,tracking and solving the problems in the language ability cultivation of primary school students in primary school English teaching,and finally obtains the teaching plan and beneficial experience and enlightenment to improve the English language ability of primary school students.Provide a certain reference value for the frontline English teachers.The research framework of this paper is divided into five parts.Introduction,analyzes the research background,domestic and foreign research status,core concepts,research methods and research ideas.The first chapter,an overview of language competence from the perspective of core literacy,expounds the connotation of language competence,the value implication of language competence,and the theoretical basis and basic requirements of cultivating students’ language competence based on core literacy.The second chapter,from the perspective of the core literacy of primary school English language ability curriculum design.In-depth interpretation and analysis of the teaching objects and textbooks,and introduction of the research process and implementation path of the plan.Chapter three is the implementation of the case study on cultivating pupils’ language ability from the perspective of core literacy.The implementation of the lesson requires three trials,feedback and reflection to promote the improvement of the scheme,and obtain the final scheme.Chapter four,the enlightenment and thinking of the case study of cultivating pupils’ language ability from the perspective of core literacy.Through the research,we find that the case study of primary school students’ language ability cultivation from the perspective of core literacy improves students’ language comprehension and expression ability.From the perspective of core literacy,the cultivation strategies of primary school students’ English language ability are as follows: creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in class introduction to stimulate students’ interest in learning;Elaborate classroom design to stimulate students’ communicative motivation;Create life situation,improve the language ability in the use of situation;Open questions as the carrier to promote students language generation;The evaluation content is diversified to promote the effective implementation of language competence.
