The rapid development of digital technology has brought about innovations in media communication carriers and methods, and the evolution of media has driven the development of narrative models.Interactive digital narratives that integrate digital media technology and narrative forms have further enriched the methodological system and innovative fields of digital technology and changed the way of cultural transmission. As an important carrier of cultural content to children, children’s books have been provided with a new field of practice in the context of media convergence and technological empowerment, and the production of content for children has gradually transitioned to digitalization and has been integrated into children’s learning life in a multidimensional and all-round way. However, with the popularization and development of electronic media, the temporal and spatial limitations of reading have been broken, and children’s digital reading presents the trend of pursuing speed and pleasure first. In order to adapt to children’s reading characteristics, the development of children’s digital books also tends to fragment the content and entertain, neglecting the attention to children’s continuous interactive experience and cultural content acquisition needs. Therefore, this paper analyzes the cognitive characteristics of children’s cultural acquisition and explores the design strategies of interactive digital narrative readers, taking school-age children as the research object, interactive narrative as the research content, and digital readers as the presentation carrier, aiming to digitally enhance children’s cultural perception ability and social behavior evolution. In this way,the dynamic meaning generation,non-linear narrative and forced interactivity features of interactive digital narratives are brought into play as important influences on children’s cultural perception process, enabling children’s subjectivity in digital reading to be brought into play and generating cultural meanings and connotations in conjunction with their own life experiences.First, the cognitive characteristics of children’s cultural acquisition are summarized to sort out the characteristics and meanings of the participatory narrative generation process, and to clarify that interactive narrative intervention in digital readers can effectively promote children’s dynamic construction of cultural meaning and meet the positive cognitive needs of children’s cultural acquisition.Secondly, based on the interactive digital narrative model and interaction design elements, five dimensions of interactive narratives are extracted, starting from the interactive medium, children’s behavior, narrative mode, narrative structure and interaction context, and analyzing the evolution of children-oriented interactive digital narrative products with relevant theories and case studies. Then, based on the characteristics of multi-media integration,we conduct a research on the media forms of interactive digital narratives, using field tests, observations and questionnaires to analyze the multidimensional influence of interactive digital narrative media forms on children’s cultural acquisition from different dimensions of cultural information, and to explore the potential of digital media forms for application. After that,we propose design strategies for interactive digital narrative books in terms of media form, narrative mode and interaction design by combining digital and physical media to construct cultural contexts, highlighting the subjectivity of children’s cultural acquisition with participatory narrative mode, and strengthening children’s motivation for acquisition with exploratory interaction mechanism. Finally, the design strategy and demand analysis are combined to integrate the design practice ideas, and the design practice of the digital book "The Great Canal of the South and the North" is carried out and verified and improved from four aspects: media application, narrative structure, narrative form and interaction mechanism. |
