‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ is the first collection of regional poems in Guangxi.At present,the academic circle has fully explored the literary,historical and aesthetic significance of‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’,but there is no research on the literature itself of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.The paper takes ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’as the research object,and explores the condification motivation,compilation process,compilation style and poetics thoughts from the perspective of literature compilation,so as to have a better understanding of the regional value and cultural significance of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.The first chapter combs the motivation of compilation of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.From the objective point of view,the trend of compiling regional poetry collection in the early Qing Dynasty,the urgent need of the development of culture and literature in Guangxi for regional poetry collection,and the foundation of historical documents related to Guangdxi all provided objective conditions for Wang Sen to compile this collection.From the subjective point of view of the editor,Wang Sen’s experience in collecting books from his family and reading and editing books,as well as his working experience in Guangdxi,provided the prerequisite for his compilation of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.In addition,Wang Sen’s conscious consciousness of continuing a certain context made him determined to compile a collection for Guangdxi.The second chapter analyzes the compilation,style and standards of‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ was published and finished by Wang’s Mei Xuetang in 1705,which lasted ten years.‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ is extant in the reign of Kangxi,engraved by Mei Xuetang,printed by Yongzheng,complete edition of the Four Databases and transcriptions.The book adopts the way of arranging poems according to genre classification and chronological order,and only records the original poems,without collating and annotating.The third chapter explores the standard of poetry collection and the concept of compilation contained in ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.First of all,the poems included in ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ take the content of western Guangdong as the space standard,and the poems reflecting the cultural and educational development in Guangxi as the time standard.Then,we explore the construction of poetry history contained in poetry in Guangxi,highlighting the ethnic characteristics of Guangxi and continuing the context of Guangdxi from the perspectives of style of arrangement,collection standard and scope of collection.In the fourth chapter,on the basis of the previous text,we explore Wang Sen’s poetic thoughts reflected in ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.First,through the poems included,Wang Sen can explore the practical value of poetry and prose and pursue the idea of ‘true poetry’.Second,Through Wang Sen’s poetry collection for Guangxi,it can be seen that he advocates the poetics thought of establishing regional poetry.The fifth chapter analyzes the omissions of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.In terms of text entry,first of all,there are some omissions in the poems,including incomplete content,miscollection,and misage;Secondly,there are omissions such as the age of the poet and the name of the poet.In addition,for Wang Sen in the compilation process of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’,there are also many deficiencies in the style,catalogue and collection standard.The sixth chapter is to sort out the omissions of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’.The omissions in the genre,poetry,poets,catalogues and collection standards of ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ are described,such as incorrect collection of poems,misplacement of poets’ names and dynasties,duplication of catalogues and lack of catalogues,and too broad collection standards.The conclusion compares ‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ with other contemporary regional poetry collection and the Guangxi poetry collection such as‘Qiao Xi Shi Chao’ and ‘San Guan Yingling Ji’,highlighting the merit of‘Yue Xi Shi Zai’ in terms of poetry collection standard and compilation style.
