The Research Of Female Image In Chinese Propaganda Posters From 1949 To 1976

After the founding of China in 1949,commercial posters temporarily withdrew from the history of Chinese poster design,as a powerful weapon for "publicizing and educating the people,exposing and attacking the enemy," propaganda posters have greatly developed.At the same time,as a force that can hold up half the sky,women also ushered in liberation in the east wind of the founding of China.With the significant improvement of women’s status in society,female images have become an indispensable part of propaganda posters.The image of women in China propaganda poster is different from the morbid beauty image in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and from the modern female images commercialized and materialized in the calendar of the Republic of China.In a highly enthusiastic social atmosphere,they have become beautiful due to labor and sweat,demonstrating the self-reliance of the new socialist women.This article focuses on the construction of female images in the propaganda posters of China.Through literature research,history,iconography,and other methods,it conducts a mutually corroborative study of relevant historical materials about women in China and the images in the propaganda posters,and deeply explores the path and motivation of changes in female images.And from the perspective of design,it analyzes the design elements and symbolic symbols in female theme propaganda posters,and explores the infiltration and role of national ideology in them in detail.Finally,it summarizes the process of shaping female identity through national discourse,and then summarizes its historical value,significance,and dissemination enlightenment for today’s women.The thesis is mainly divided into six chapters: The introduction part analyzes the research background,purpose,significance,domestic and foreign research status,which is the origin of this study;The second chapter focuses on the establishment of the theme of women in the propaganda posters of China.It first combs the female images in modern Chinese art,and then explores the birth and development of the concept of women’s liberation in China based on the gender perspective of Chinese society from ancient times to the present;The third chapter focuses on the historical evolution of female images in Chinese propaganda posters,summarizing the characteristics of female images in the propaganda paintings from the changes in their external and professional images;The fourth chapter explores the design elements in female themed promotional paintings,interpreting the content of the images from three aspects: color,font,and composition,and further exploring the shaping techniques and significance of female images in promotional paintings.The fifth chapter focuses on the symbolic symbols in female theme posters,explaining the infiltration and influence of national will and political rights through the analysis of political symbols,scene symbols,and ethnic symbols.The final chapter serves as a summary of the article,focusing on the construction and significance of women’s identity under the influence of national discourse,not only exploring the cultural connotation and significance behind image representation,but also providing inspiration for today’s media dissemination of true and healthy female images.The confident,cheerful,healthy and upward portrayal of women in the propaganda paintings of China from 1949 to 1976 is a profound reflection of the idea of gender equality and women’s liberation.At the same time,the female images portrayed in the propaganda posters have successfully achieved the organic combination of the national will and the people’s will,and have an important political role.Although the portrayal of female images at that time was characterized by masculinity and stereotyping,it is undeniable that these positive female images still convey a strong power to this day,encouraging the vast majority of women to strive to achieve self-worth,and promoting the correct dissemination of gender equality awareness.
