| In the history of Chinese painting,Wang Hui and Shi Tao are representatives of the two major painting schools active in the Ming and Qing dynasties.Through the study and combing of art history monographs and related documents,it was found that there was an indirect exchange between the two in art,and the origin of "Southern Tour Map" also gave the significance and possibility of comparison between the two major figures. In the existing research, there are very few studies comparing Wang Hui and Shi Tao with aesthetic taste as the starting point. Therefore, the significance of the research lies in revealing the aesthetic status of Chinese art in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties by comparing the aesthetic tastes of the two artists, making up for some research deficiencies, and filling the gap in the domestic research on the aesthetic tastes of artists in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. In the study of the aesthetic tastes of the two artists, the article adopts the literature research method, the comparative analysis method, the induction method and the deductive method.Through extensive reading and research on Wang Hui,Shi Tao and the relevant literature on aesthetic taste theory, aesthetic taste was sorted out and defined. From the comparative analysis of the subject conditions, direct presentation and realm effect of the aesthetic taste of the two people’s art,the purpose of the research is to find the commonalities and differences in the aesthetic tastes of different individuals in the same era, compare the difference between the personality realm and the artistic realm of the two people, and analyze the gap between the painting style and the personality, summarize the development of the aesthetic effect, and thus rethinking Wang Hui’s current historical position. From the comparative analysis of the aesthetic taste of Wang Hui and Shi Tao’s art,it can be seen that the artistic realm and personality realm of the two people show that Wang Hui’s personality realm is higher than That of Shi Tao,and Shi Tao is higher than Wang Hui in the artistic realm.Although the aesthetic tastes of the two are very different, and there are still deficiencies in artistic expression,it is undeniable that the two have great achievements in painting and aesthetic ideas, and the artistic aesthetic taste has made obvious breakthroughs and is progressive compared with their predecessors.Since the May Fourth Movement, the historical status of the two has changed greatly, especially for Wang Hui,who has suffered great criticism and blows, but now we should rethink and evaluate Wang Hui’s artistic taste from a broader perspective, and at the same time explore the strengths of Wang Hui and Shi Tao’s art,so as to benefit the better development of contemporary Chinese painting. |
