In the age of the Internet,the number of online news reads has been dramatically increasing.Various information can rapidly spread as a consequence of the online interaction between individuals and society.In the past,these researches of online news transmission and forwarding were mainly concentrated in the field of journalism,while fewer studies of online news were based on psychological analysis.These studies on the factor of influencing online news forwarding mainly focus on objective news elements,and neglect individual subjective initiative and social relations complexity in the process of information transmission and the complexity of the relationship between individuals and society.In addition,researches abroad on news dissemination are mostly based on Twitter,Facebook and other social platforms,while domestic research on news dissemination is based on open groups on Weibo.However,there are very few studies based on closed platforms(such as wechat platform).According to the characteristics of the probabilistic cascade model,a model based on news characteristics,individual characteristics and social relationship characteristics was established in this study to discuss the forwarding intention of wechat users,a relatively closed social group.In this paper,the main study includes the following three parts:(1)News characteristics(positive and negative news headlines,positive and negative news content): The experimental results show that individuals have an attention bias to negative news headlines.For most online viewers,positive news is more likely to be retweeted than negative news.Positive news has the higher rate of emotional activation and forwarding intention,and individuals are more interested in positive news.(2)Individual characteristics(emotion,empathy and altruism,thinking style):the emotion-regulating motivation caused by positive news was significantly higher than that caused by negative news.The mediating effect of emotion-regulating motivation was significant in the influence of emotional activation rate on forwarding intention.For individuals,the subjective empathy of reading negative news was higher than reading positive news,and the difference between positive and negative news was significant.After reading positive and negative news,there was a significant linear relationship between the subjective empathy and forwarding intention,the forwarding intention can be positively predicted by the empathy,which means the stronger empathy,the stronger forwarding intention.In addition,the level of empathy affects the effect of altruistic motivation on news forwarding intention,that is,the group with high empathy has higher altruistic motivation and higher forwarding intention.There was no difference in altruistic motivation between positive and negative news,but altruistic motivation had the significant mediating effect between the empathy and retweeting intention.For negative news,the forwarding intention was not different in different thinking modes.On the contrary,the forwarding intention of positive news was significantly different for various thinking modes,which means the forwarding intention of rational thinking was stronger than emotional thinking when reading positive news.(3)Characteristics of social relations(group preference estimation and whether or not they agree with feedback): The news forwarding intention was influenced by the interaction of group preference estimation and news valence.The participates who evaluated the group preference for negative news had the stronger willingness to retweet negative news,while the participates who evaluated the group preference for positive news preferred retweeting positive news.It means that forwarding intention depends on the group preference.Both group identity and forwarding intention of the group with and without approved feedback were higher than the group without approved feedback,and there were significant differences between group identity and forwarding intention of positive and negative news with and without approved feedback.Moreover,group identity plays an intermediary role in the relationship between identity feedback and forwarding intention. |
