College students with family economic difficulties are the key funded objects of higher education.Exploring the relationship between their future self and prosocial behavior will not only help college students with family economic difficulties shape themselves, but also help guide them to return more to the society.Prosocial behavior generally refers to the behavior voluntarily made by individuals and beneficial to others, groups and society. For individuals, prosocial behavior is conducive to the improvement of their own moral quality and personality; For society, prosocial behavior contributes to the improvement of interpersonal relations and the harmonious development of society. In recent years, with the rise of future self research, researchers began to explore the influence of future self on prosocial behavior.Future self is the future oriented part of self concept, which provides a background for evaluation and interpretation of the present self and plays an incentive role in individual behavior. Therefore, this study selects a special group of college students with family economic difficulties, and uses event related potential technology to explore the influence of future self on prosocial behavior and its neural mechanism from both explicit and implicit levels by priming their future self.Experiment 1 adopted a mixed experimental design of 2(group: positive future self primed group, negative future self primed group)× 3(donation condition: high, medium and low). The group is the variable between subjects, and the donation condition is the variable within subjects. In the experiment, after the future self of college students with family economic difficulties was primed, the self reference paradigm and money donation task was used to explore the influence of future self on the explicit prosocial behavior of college students with family economic difficulties. The behavioral results show that in terms of donation proportion, the donation proportion of positive future self primed group is significantly higher than that of negative future self primed group. In terms of donation amount, the positive future self primed group is significantly higher than the negative future self primed group in terms of low, medium and high donation condition.EEG results showed that the amplitude of P2 and P3 in the positive future self primed group was higher than that in the negative future self primed group.Experiment 2 adopted a mixed experimental design of 2(group: positive future self primed group, negative future self primed group)× 2(condition type: congruent condition, incongruent condition),the group is the variable between subjects, and the condition type is the variable within subjects. In the experiment, after the future self of college students with family economic difficulties was primed,a single category implicit association test was used to explore the influence of future self on the implicit prosocial behavior of college students with family economic difficulties. The behavioral results showed that there was no significant difference in the D score reflecting individual implicit prosocial between the two groups.EEG results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in N1,P2 and P3 components. Therefore,it can be concluded that at the level of explicit prosocial behavior, the positive future self primed group of college students with family economic difficulties can significantly improve the level of prosocial behavior. However,at the level of implicit prosocial behavior, the future self of college students with family economic difficulties has no significant influence on implicit prosocial behavior. This also shows that the future self of college students with family economic difficulties has significantly different effects on their explicit and implicit prosocial behavior, which provides new supporting evidence for the dual attitude model.
