Hartog borrowed from Koselleck’s theory of historical time and put forward the concepts of Regimes of Historicity and Presentism in combination with the current social situation. The historical system refers to an order of time, which can be divided into three types: Old Regimes of Historicity,Modern Regimes of Historicity and Presentism. The difference is who holds the dominant position in the past, present and future. In the Old Regimes of Historicity, the past dominated, the future dominated in the Modern Regimes of Historicity, and the present dominated in the Presentism. After Hartog ’s Regimes of Historicity and Presentism were put forward,it has aroused widespread concern in the field of history and other disciplines. At one time,Presentism has been applied to many aspects. Is it true that mankind has entered the era of Presentism? In this regard, many scholars have reflected on Hartog ’s historical time theory. In general,Hartog ’s Presentism reveals a moment of experience rupture.Although this time disconnection exists to a certain extent,it is more applicable to some countries than to the whole of mankind. It is more based on the experience of French nationalism, and is not applicable to other countries or groups. It also believes that the historical system has two natures, one is instrumental and the other is phased. These two properties make the historical system have some fuzziness, and also one of the reasons for its weakening of applicability. For this reason, some scholars try to construct a more instrumental historical time theory in other ways.As for the shortsightedness that may be caused by Presentism, some scholars have chosen to deal with it by revisiting historical philosophy or paying attention to the larger whole.
