| With the publication of the 14th Five-Year Plan of Action for the Development and Improvement of Preschool Education in 2021,comprehensive quality improvement in preschool education has entered a new phase. In institutions, music education is one of aesthetic education’s primary content and implementation vehicles.Lessons in vocal music for preschool education majors in colleges and universities serve not only the purpose of enhancing students’ vocational skills but also their aesthetic and humanistic qualities. However, vocal music instruction in early childhood education utilizes outdated and singular methods. It is difficult to be competent in kindergarten art instruction activities due to the shaky musical foundation of the students and their lack of proficiency in music as a whole. In Gordon’s theory of music audition, listening to music refers to the capacity of individuals to hear and comprehend music in their mental consciousness without the use of tangible sound.Listening to music is also the foundation for developing other music skills, and it is one of the essential skills in music study and performance(singing). It has far-reaching implications for the development of students’comprehensive music accomplishments in the context of music education.Consequently,Gordon’s theory of music listening can be used as a reference in the vocal music instruction of preschool education speciality in colleges and universities, which is also the starting point of this investigation. This study adopts action research and follows the principle of "finding problems--developing strategies-putting into action--reflecting on adjustments--acting again and reflecting again".Sophomore students majoring in preschool education at Y Normal College were selected as the research object to explore the effect of music audiation applied to the vocal music teaching of preschool education majors in higher colleges in vocal music teaching practice. After each action, the students’ singing ability(intonation, rhythm)was quantitatively scored, and the following three conclusions were drawn by combining qualitative analysis:The students’ listening and singing ability(intonation rhythm)improved significantly after listening and thinking to teach.Students affirmed that listening and thinking to teach is helpful in many aspects, such as "intonation and rhythm abilities","learning interest," and "future working ability".The teachers who participated in the classroom observation believe"music audition" can improve students’ comprehensive music accomplishment. Finally, this study puts forward educational suggestions for teachers applying this theory in vocal music teaching from four aspects:the selection of teaching content, teaching methods, teaching evaluation and teachers’ ability cultivation,in order to provide them with new teaching ideas and cultivate high-quality preschool talents in line with the development of the new era and the requirements of the new stage of preschool education. |
