In late 20 century,the research of Cognitive Psychology and Development Psychology not only accelerated the American education reform,but promoted the piano education for children.From the 1970s,new child piano textbooks become more and more.The educational ideas and effective methods which are quite different from the former textbooks adapted the younger children,and loved by students and teachers.The objects of study in this paper are based on《Piano adventures》&《The Music tree》.According to documents analysis method,the paper will explore the theoretical bases、editing operations and method of application.This paper includes introduction、epilogue and four chapters.According to the Bruner’s structural curricular theory which is after the American education reform,and Gordon’s music theory,first chapter will explain the theoretical bases of the two serial elementary textbooks.By showing the details of two textbooks,second chapter will explain the teaching designs which adapt children cognitive rules—the study experience of comprehensive feeling and expressing music in happy.Third chapter is the discussion of two textbooks in using.In this chapter,first part is applicability discussion about the overseas piano textbooks bringing in directly,and second part is an interview to three teachers from different countries.They recommended the usage situations from their own viewpoints.Excellent elementary piano textbooks must conform to the children’s music cognitive rules from psychology,and reflect the editor’s wisdom.Really hope this paper can demonstrate clearly the relationship between two piano textbooks and relevant theories,and provide some approaches to Chinese piano teaching and materials.
