Displacement is the relative change in the spatial position at which things are located. The displacement event is a displacement movement of the moving object from the source point to the end point. The research on the displacement events is a hot research subject at home and abroad.Based on the theory of the displacement event framework, this paper uses the method for displacement analysis proposed by Talmy, namely the four internal elements in the displacement event: subject, background, displacement, and path;the two external elements in the displacement event: manners and causes. In addition, this paper uses other scholars’ classification methods for displacement events to divide the displacement events into self-displacement events and displacementcausing events. In the study,by using CCL and BCC corpora as corpus source in Chinese language and using the Uyghur Dictionary and the Uyghur Folk Tales as corpus source in Uyghur language, this paper makes contrastive analysis on the syntactic and semantic features of path verbs, manner verbs, displacementcausing verbs and co-displacement verbs in Chinese and Uyghur selfdisplacement events and displacement-causing events and discusses the similarities and differences between the two languages in the expression of displacement events. This paper is mainly divided into six parts. The first part is the introduction which mainly introduces the research background, topic basis, research significance as well as research ideas and methods hereof. The second part is concept definition which defines the concepts of displacement, displacement events, elements of displacement events and classification on displacement events. The third part makes specific classifications on Chinese and Uyghur displacement verbs. The fourth part compares the syntactic and semantic features of path verbs and manner verbs in Chinese and Uyghur languages in the framework of self-displacement events and explores the similarity and differences between the two languages in the expression of selfdisplacement events. In simple self-shifting events, both the path verb and the mode verb can independently assume the core predicate component of the sentence When the path verb is combined with the mode verb, the Chinese way verb becomes the core of the sentence, while the uygur way verb is still the core predicate of the sentence. The fifth part compares the syntactic and semantic features of displacement-causing verbs and co-displacement verbs in Chinese and Uyghur languages in the framework of displacement-causing events and explores the similarity and differences between the two languages in the expression of displacement-causing events. In the expression of transferred events, both Chinese and uyghur have agent-causing and agent-receiving.Chinese usually USES verb-sentence and passive sentence, and uyghur USES objective case mark. And the sixth part is the conclusion part which summarizes the similarities and differences between Chinese and Uyghur displacement verbs in the syntactic and semantic aspects.
