Originally,"Shu Palace Night Banquet" a large-scale folk orchestral work,Mr.Dan Zhaoyi adapted it for solo piano. The adaptation, while retaining the folk musical elements of the original work, skillfully combines Chinese and Western musical composition techniques to make it a piano work with Chinese style. The article takes Dan Zhaoyi’s piano adaptation of Shu Palace Night Banquet as the object of study,Firstly, the background of the composition of the original piece for national orchestra and the piano adaptation are introduced respectively.Secondly, the folk music elements in the piano adaptation are analyzed in depth and in detail, mainly from three aspects: the use of traditional music materials, the nationalization of harmony and the imitation of folk instrumental timbre. Finally, the performance techniques of the piano adaptation of Shu Palace Night Banquet are analyzed from three aspects: the association and grasp of timbre, the handling of rhythm and the use of pedals.Through the analysis of the folk music elements in the piano adaptation of "The Banquet at the Palace of Shu",we can provide some theoretical references for the study of similar works, and at the same time, better grasp the style of the work and improve our own performance level.
