The problem of inattentiveness in children’s concentration has received much attention nowadays.Inattentiveness can have many adverse effects on children,such as confusion in logical thinking,poor reading skills,and difficulty in controlling emotions.Studies have shown that there is little research on the existing way of developing children’s concentration through Chinese brush painting.Therefore,this study is a practical exploration and enrichment of the theoretical system related to the cultivation of concentration in school-age children,which has certain significance and value for the cultivation of concentration in children.This study attempts to investigate the effective way of cultivating concentration in school-age children by using traditional Chinese brush painting as a carrier.Through literature review,questionnaire survey,case study,and interdisciplinary research,we investigated and analyzed the current situation of the out-of-school art education institutions in Xinzheng City,and designed an effective teaching case of Chinese brush painting for children’s concentration cultivation for David’s art education institution in Xinzheng City.The opening chapter explains the characteristics of school-age children’s development in terms of their cognitive activity,drawing ability,and aesthetic psychology,and lays the foundation for the subsequent practical exploration of the involvement of brush painting in children’s concentration development.Through the analysis of the artistic characteristics of brush painting,it is pointed out that it is intrinsically related to the cultivation of children’s concentration.Secondly,a comparative analysis of the teaching status of work brush painting education in and out of school and the advantages of work brush painting for children’s concentration cultivation are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of this study.After clarifying the basic concept and design ideas of the curriculum design of this teaching practice,four teaching examples of four modules,namely,appreciation of brush painting,line practice of brush painting,traditional color matching,and application of brush painting design,were designed to try out the teaching practice activities of brush painting with the goal of cultivating children’s concentration.Finally,we reflect on the teaching practice of children’s concentration cultivation,combining the previous teaching design and classroom practice,reflecting on the strengths and weaknesses in terms of practice content,practice effects,and practice methods,and formulating corresponding improvement measures.This study confirms the importance and feasibility of brush painting for school-age children’s concentration cultivation from both theoretical and practical levels.
