Research On The Timbre Structure Of The Symphonic Dance Music "The Legend Of Butterflies Romance" By Jia Daqun

"The Legend of Butterfly Love Romance" is an elaborate music work written by contemporary composer Jia Daqun,which was supported by the large-scale stage art creation project of China National Arts Fund in 2018.The work was commissioned by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and premiered at the China Shanghai International Arts Festival in the same year.It consists of eleven movements with beautiful melody,clear plot narration,strong dramatic tension and attractive timbre arrangement.Based on three core themes of "butterfly","love" and "the south of the Yangtze River",the work conveys the local customs of regions south of Yangtze River through the theme of "Butterfly Lovers".This paper takes "The Legend of Butterfly Love Romance" as the research object and the timbre structure as the starting point to explore the role played by the timbre rhythm and the timbre processing of transverse and longitudinal texture of the music in the construction of timbre structure.The paper consists of five parts.The first chapter is an introduction,which focuses on the reason in selecting the topic,the significance of the research and the present situation.The second chapter illustrates the composer’s experience,the stage of creation and the music work "The Legend of Butterfly Love Romance".The third chapter shows that the design of timbre rhythm is closely related to the presentation and development of music,and then the relationship between it and the timbre structure is found through the analysis of the changes in timbre rhythm in the work.The fourth chapter analyzes the processing of transverse and longitudinal texture in timbre,so as to further understand timbre structure construction and tease out the mutual relationship.The fifth chapter is a conclusion which is drawn that the elements influencing the timbre structure is of great significance in the construction of the structure based on the above research.In particular,timbre rhythm promotes the generation of timbre structure and plays a dynamic role of in it.Then,a reasonable timbre structure is constructed in the formalized content of dynamic development through transverse and longitudinal timbre texture.It may serve as a reference for the creation and timbre construction of contemporary works to some extent.
