The Ministry of Education issued the Curriculum Plan and Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition),marking that English courses at the basic education stage have entered a new era of core literacy.Homework is an important content of teaching evaluation: "the design of homework should not only help students to consolidate language knowledge and skills,but also help students to effectively use strategies and enhance learning motivation".Homework design should be based on the concept of new curriculum standards to promote students to develop the core quality.This study takes the English homework of middle and high grades of primary schools as the research object.The specific research contents include:the current situation and causes of problems in English homework;the suggestions of primary school English homework design under the concept of new curriculum standard;the practice and design of English homework development under the new curriculum standard concept.The main conclusions are as follows:First of all,with the help of research methods such as questionnaire survey,interview and text analysis.The research found that there are a series of problems in the design process of English homework in middle and senior primary schools,such as the lack of integrity of the purpose of the homework,the deficiency of diversity of the type of homework,the neglect of the difference of the content of the homework,and the ignorance of the enlightening of the evaluation of the homework.These problems need to be attributed to a number of reasons.Subjective reasons: teachers’ simple understanding of the function of homework,awareness of homework exploration,shortcoming of ability of homework design,etc.Objective factors: such as external constraints,lead to the limited energy of teachers’ homework evaluation.Secondly,based on the concept of the new curriculum standard,the study believes that the design of primary school English homework should consider:concordant the knowledge and practice,coordinate the language characteristics and humanistic characteristics,integrate classroom work and unit work,combine online and offline resources,adhere to the integration of "teaching,homework and evaluation".Finally,combined with the cognitive level and learning style of middle and high grade students in primary school,the study discusses the methods and specific cases of primary school English homework design under the new curriculum standards: homework objectives,homework situations,homework types,homework content,homework evaluation,etc..Developing specific homework cases and preliminary practice.First,develop homework objectives scientifically based on curriculum standards;second,effectively create the homework situation according to the teaching theme;third,enrich the types of design work by focusing on the core qualities;forth,taking into account individual differences,set homework content by classification;fifth,adhere to the quality orientation and give play to the function of evaluation and education.In short,through this survey and research,I hope to improve primary school English teachers’ attention and awearness on homework design,and realize its importance to achieve the requirements of the new curriculum standards.It also provides reference and inspiration for forefront teachers to design English homework innovatively and improve the quality of English teaching,and then,promotes the transformation and implementation of the new curriculum standards in English teaching.
