From "cultural self-confidence" to "telling the story of China," in the process of enhancing cultural soft power and showcasing a friendly image of China,our country not only needs to make Chinese culture "go out" and make it heard by people around the world,but also needs to make Chinese culture "go in" and make it understood by people around the world.For international Chinese language education professionals,how to make Chinese culture accessible to overseas Chinese students and make them understand the voice of China has become the direction of continuous exploration in this field.As the main resource for overseas Chinese students to learn Chinese language and Chinese culture,Chinese textbooks play an important role in conveying knowledge about the Chinese national conditions.Based on this,this paper selects the latest published Chinese listening and speaking textbook for foreigners,"Understanding Contemporary China: Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking Course," as the main research object.Through investigation and analysis,statistical analysis,and comparative analysis methods,this paper first classifies and analyzes the cultural elements in the textbook.Then,three representative cultural elements are selected for teaching design to explain new era China to learners.Finally,suggestions for using the textbook are presented for international Chinese teachers and overseas Chinese students.This paper is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1 is the introduction,which includes the background and significance of the research,a literature review,research ideas,and research methods.Chapter 2 provides an overview of the definition of concepts,the necessity of integrating "contemporary Chinese culture" into Chinese listening and speaking textbooks for foreigners,and the classification standards of cultural elements.Chapter 3 focuses on studying the cultural elements in the "Understanding Contemporary China-Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking Course",including the source,classification,and characteristic analysis of the cultural elements in the textbook;At the same time,in the third section of this chapter,the author selected the highly used "Developing Chinese" advanced Chinese listening and speaking textbook as a representative of the commonly used Chinese listening and speaking textbooks in the past.By comparing and analyzing the cultural elements in the two sets of textbooks,the author found the advantages of the cultural elements in "Understanding Contemporary China-Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking Course".Chapter4 starting from the three levels of contemporary China,social life and traditional culture,selects three cultural elements with the characteristics of the times,namely,"Chinese Dream","China High speed Railway" and "the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang",in Understanding Contemporary China-Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking Course for teaching design.Chapter 5 provides suggestions for international Chinese teachers on how to better use the "Understanding Contemporary China-Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking Course" from three aspects: early,middle,and late stages of teaching;Suggestions were also provided to international students studying in China from three aspects: before class,during class,and after class.Chapter 6 is the conclusion,summarizing the entire text and pointing out the shortcomings of the textbook and research in this article.Through the research in this article,it can be seen that the cultural elements in the "Understanding Contemporary China-Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking Course" have significant characteristics of keeping up with the times.Not only can contemporary Chinese elements effectively introduce learners to the latest achievements in various fields of China,but also elements related to social life and traditional culture reflect strong modernity,which can help learners deeply understand China’s national conditions,It can also make learners feel the charm of technology bringing traditional culture to life. |
