| Located at the western end of the Hexi Corridor,the Dunhuang Grottoes are renowned for their exquisite murals and statues.Grotto murals have rich colors,different shapes,and diverse themes,while plant images play an important role in the paintings of Mogao Grotto murals.During the early Tang Dynasty,the image of Chinese native plants was further developed,enriching the fusion of native image systems and foreign images.Among them,the plant images on the north wall of Cave 323 of Mogao Grottoes play a significant role as witnesses and reflectors of the Buddhist art of Dunhuang murals during this period.The main body of this paper consists of four chapters.From life in nature to life in works of art,plant image painting integrates human life,religious beliefs,and vegetation images,and is passed down to eternity.This article aims to study the plant images in the murals on the north wall of Cave 323 of Mogao Grottoes,connect the theme of flower and bird paintings in the history of Chinese art,and expand the perspective of comparative research between handed down paintings and unearthed cultural relics.In addition,the study of plant images in Dunhuang murals provides the author with a certain basis and technical learning for the creation of plant themes.In the last chapter,the author introduces the inspiration and thinking received from his murals during his graduation creation process. |
