"New Society" is a political progressive journal aimed at spreading new ideas sponsored by progressive youth during the May 4th Movement period.The journal was founded on November 1,1919 and was published under the name of "Social Progress Association" in Beijing at that time.It had a total of 19 numbers and was closed down by the Beiyang government after the third issue of "Labor Number" was published on May 1,1920.Its editors and main contributors are Zheng Zhenduo,Qu Qiubai,Qu Shiying,Geng Kuang and Xu Dishan.Its founding purpose is "to examine the evils of society and to engage in the movement of transformation in a peaceful and practical way in order to realize the new society of Democraci." The paper mainly discussed social reform,advocated women’s liberation and paid attention to labor issues."New Society" focuses on a group of advanced young intellectuals who are based on social practical problems at that time and emphasizes social transformation in order to realize The dream of The new society of Demokxi.In order to realize the dream of the "new society",the new Society puts forward various socialist ideas for different social problems.Therefore,this paper mainly studies and interprets the text content of "New Society",respectively explaining the socialist thought contained therein.First,it recognizes the concept of class and class struggle,and uses historical materialism to recognize the essence of social development,so as to advocate the implementation of marxist thought of social revolution.Second,advocating women’s liberation and advocating utopian socialist ideas of social transformation without oppression and exploitation;The third is the pan-laborism thought that demands to keep company with labor and not fight evil with violence;Fourth,abolishing the private right of property,advocating the construction of equality and freedom without oppression of the new village anarchist thought;The fifth is to unite labor,industrial autonomy,advocating production union,complete freedom of the producers of Gilt’s socialist thought,to promote the "New Society" advocated by the socialist thought."New Society" clearly disseminates socialist thoughts,makes profound analysis of Chinese society,focuses on major social realistic problems,and advocates the realization of the new society of "Demokrasi",which not only strengthens the faith of progressive youth to carry out social reform,but also awakens the patriotic enthusiasm of the general public.
