Pictorial Reproduction Of Underclass Women’s Writing In Modern Chinese Literature

The underlying women’s writing in modern Chinese literature is pictorially reproduced in a large number of book covers,illustrations and comic strips.This paper analyzes the reproduction of images in the writing of women at the bottom of modern literature from three aspects: image shaping,image narrative,and narrative scene presentation.In the first part,following the lineage of modern literary writing on the underclass women,three types of underclass women are described in the image reproduction-the victims in the patriarchal social scene,the fallen ones in the difficult life situation and the rebels in the transition between the old and the new era,so as to explore the ways and characteristics of modern literary images in shaping women’s images.The artists use woodcuts,line drawings,gouache and other forms of painting to shape the characters through the imaging elements and compositional methods of the underlying women’s dress,expressions and movements,drawing realistic and perceptible portraits and expanding the expressive power of the relevant works.The second part discusses how the picture book represents the character of the underlying women through single images,consecutive images and "outline" image narrative strategies with the help of the theory of image narrative.The single image is the most nurturing moment to guide the reader to associate and fill in the elements that do not appear in the image;the continuous multiple images achieve narrative integrity through the close connection of images,the change of characters’ movements,and the transformation of space;the "outline" The "compendium" image narrative,on the other hand,achieves the juxtaposition of pictures and scenes through the cutting of images and the special composition composed of illusion and association.The image narrative allows the psychological and emotional changes and character traits of the women at the bottom to unfold,enriching the connotation of the work.The third part analyzes the role of the natural landscape,social scenes and rituals reproduced in the images in shaping the image of the women of the underclass and expressing the thematic meaning.The natural landscapes either set off the psychological state of the underclass women in the context created or act as clues to suggest the changes in the fate of the underclass women.The artists turn the abstract scenes of living spaces and social scenes into reality,as culturally significant social scenes,to express the material and spiritual poverty of the underclass women in a specific time and space.The creators of the illustrated book turn simplicity into complexity to draw a picture of customs,which helps to explore the social context and render the atmosphere of the tragic fate of the characters.
