A Practice Report On The C-E Translation Of Discovery Of Anhui Province (Excerpt) From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

The original text of this translation report comes from Discovery of Anhui Province published by Tourism Education Press in 2019.The original text has not yet been published in Chinese.It comes from the "Information of Anhui" and " Must-sees in Downtown Hefei" sections of the book,which mainly introduce the knowledge of geography,history and culture of Anhui Province and the attractions of Hefei City.In order to make the translation meet the reading expectations,thinking habits and cognitive level of foreign readers,this practice is guided by the three-dimensional transformation method of eco-translatology.The translator makes active "selective adaptation" and "adaptive selection" to the original text from three dimensions,namely language,culture and communication,so as to achieve a balance between the translational eco-environment of the source language and the target language.From the perspective of language dimension,translators need to pay attention to the different language structures and expressions of Chinese and English,and strive to make the target language coherent and easy to understand when translating.From the perspective of cultural dimension,translators need to take notice of the cultural differences between Chinese and English,and ensure the effective transmission of cultural information when translating.From the perspective of communicative dimension,translators should pay heed to the communicative intention of translation.In addition to converting language information and conveying cultural connotations,translators should also make sure that the communicative intention is reflected in the target language,so as to achieve the purpose of communicating with the target language readers.This translation practice has proved that under the guidance of eco-translatology theory,the translation of tourism text can achieve the purpose of conforming to the expression habits of the target language,conveying the connotation of the original text,and attracting potential tourists to visit and travel.In the process of translation,the translator comprehensively considers the characteristics of the text,and jumps out of the form and content of the original text when translating,so as to obtain a translation with a high degree of integration.
