The physical remains of Chu lacquer woodware discovered so far represent the overall level of the development of lacquerware in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.With its novel shapes,bright colors,and smart patterns,it has attracted much attention in academic circles.However,there are few special discussions on Chu lacquer boxes.Therefore,this paper selects lacquer boxes as the research object,comprehensively collects published archaeological materials,and summarizes the research results of predecessors.A systematic study of classification,staging and zoning.The lacquer boxes unearthed from the tombs of Chu are divided into three categories: round boxes,square boxes and special-shaped boxes.According to the different shapes and patterns of lacquer boxes,the development of lacquer boxes is divided into four stages,corresponding to the Warring States Period.At the same time,according to the regional characteristics of lacquer boxes,referring to the results of the division of Chu tombs,the lacquer boxes unearthed from Chu tombs are divided into four areas.On the basis of the classification,staging and division of lacquer boxes,the relationship between the identity of the tomb owner and the lacquer boxes produced is analyzed,and it is believed that the lacquer boxes produced by tombs of different status levels are different,and high-grade tombs often produce lacquer boxes with unique shapes;The accompanying objects and spatial position of the box further discuss the function of the lacquer box,and believe that the lacquer box not only has practical functions,but also has a funeral function.In addition,according to the production area and geographical distribution of lacquer boxes,it is speculated that there was a lacquer box production center with strong radiation ability in the Jinancheng.
