| Dong Xi is an outstanding novelist in the area of Chinese modern and contemporary Literature and a rather unique member among the“Younger Generation”writers.As one of the important backbones of Guangxi literature,he constructs a colorful literary world with his life experience and cultural perception in northwest of Guangxi.His works have got the attention and promotion from critical circles of literature for their strong regional colors,novel forms of creation and ideological content of social concern.In the landscape of social life showed by Dong Xi’s novel,body is a vision thrilled with light that is not paid attention.From the presentation of individual living state to the revelation of social culture and psychology,the story is always narrated with the body as the carrier,and the theme connotation is conveyed by the construction of the body.Based on the close reading and analysis of the text and the use of the body narrative theory,this thesis tries to explore the body narrative of Dong Xi’s novels from a multidimensional perspective,in order to provide a new perspective for the future study of Dong Xi’s works.The introduction part of this thesis systematically combs the main research results of Dong Xi’s novels and the theories related to the body narrative.The first chapter combines the body theory of Western sociologists such as Locke and John O’Neill with specific texts,and classifies and interprets the body forms presented in the creation of Dong Xi from three aspects of physiology,society and politics.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the ideological connotation conveyed by the body narration in the Dong Xi’s novels.Different forms of bodies in different situations carry the deep concern of things for individual survival,social relations and the observation of The Times.The third chapter explores the body narrative strategy of Dong Xi’s novels,grasping the way of dealing with the body in Dong Xi’s novels from the perspectives of the external presentation of the body,the internal excavation and the mutual construction of the body and the surrounding space,and analyzing how the novels promote the development of narration with the body.The fourth chapter deeply introspects the value and limitation of body narration in Dong Xi’s novels.From the perspective of body narration,Dong Xi’s novels show multiple meanings.On the one hand,the literary realm with rich implication is constructed by the fusion of body and soul.On the other hand,through highlighting the significance of the struggle between the body and suffering,the aesthetic breakthrough of the body tragedy can be achieved.Besides,in the shaping of the body image of the novel,there are some problems such as too much attention to the narrative skills,the observation of the female body is not objective,but the literary value of the body narrative is undeniable.The body in Dong Xi’s novels is essentially a complex organism containing various attributes and meanings.It not only exists as a form of physiological experience,but also contains profound symbolic meaning.It is the concentrated embodiment of the writer’s thoughts and creative attitude,but it is seldom paid attention to.The thesis takes the body narrative as the starting point to interpret Dong Xi’s novels,and tries to explore the hidden and vast life zone behind the body,which makes some supplements to the previous studies on Dong Xi.The creative practice of Dong Xi has not stopped,and the academic research on it still has many expandable paths.In addition to the narrative of the novel text,adaptation and overseas dissemination of Dong Xi’s novels still deserve further study and research. |
