| In the thesis, the translator explores the translation methods and techniques of tourist publicity texts under the guidance of the three rules of Skopos theory. In the translation practice, the translator selects the book Xijin Ferry, one of the series of Symbols of Jiangsu, published by Jiangsu People’s Publishing House in 2016 as the source text.Symbols of Jiangsu has been included in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of National Important Books, and the first batch of books, including Xijin Ferry,is listed as key projects sponsored by the International Communication Office of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee The tourist publicity texts are very important in the export and exchange of Chinese history and culture Therefore, taking this tourist publicity text as the task of the translation practice is of innovative significance in the field of translation, which can fill the research gap of tourist publicity translation of Xijin Ferry to a certain extent. In the process of translation, due to cultural differences and untranslatability of Chinese classical literature existing in Xijin Ferry, many ancient classics with Chinese characteristics, special classical buildings,folk-customs,proverbs are all difficult points for the translator to translate. In the process of translation, under the guidance of Skopos theory, the translator adopts the translation methods of literal translation, free translation,word-for-word translation, adaptation, and the translation techniques of omission, amplification, reconstruction, and conversion to solve the difficulties in C-E translation.By doing so,the translator hopes to improve the quality of the translation and the perception of the source text by non-native Chinese speakers, stimulate the interest of foreign readers, and meet the purpose of cultural exchange while also achieving propagandist value. |
