A Report On E-C Translation Of Civil Aviation Text From Guidebook For Developing A Zero-or Low-Emissions Roadmap At Airports (2021)

“Peak CO2 emissions” and “carbon neutrality” are widely discussed all over China.With an attempt to probe into the issue about carbon emission in civil aviation and provide some useful information to the public,the translator chose Guidebook for Developing a Zeroor Low-Emissions Roadmap at Airports(2021)as her translation task and made this practice report.To fulfil the translation project,the author,guided by Newmark’s semantic translation and communicative translation theory,has undertaken text type analysis,parallel text preparation,pre-translation,translation and after-translation.This report tries to demonstrate the author’s exploration of translation theory application and translation strategy justification in the translation practice.Accordingly,this report endeavors to analyse the translation of data,terms,acronyms,tables and figures,long sentences and passive voice,from the perspective of both semantic translation and communicative translation.In the core part,the author tries to exemplify some suitable strategies and methods in the translation such as back translation,amplification and omission,zero translation,weakening passive expression,etc.Above all,this thesis aims to provide some references for the translation of civil aviation texts and be of help to the readers of this report.
