| The problem of bio-security risk has been troubling human survival and development. With the development of modern biotechnology, human’ s understanding of the risk of bio-security has been extended and expanded. In order to better deal with the problem of bio-security risks,we need to fully understand the specific aspects of bio-security risks, and then take targeted measures to deal with them. The invasion of exotic plants can destroy native biodiversity, which is one of the bio-security risks. The book Invasive Plant Ecology in Natural and Agricultural Systems describes in detail the ecological distribution of invasive plants,as well as the reproductive growth process of these plants. In this translation practice report, the translator selects Chapter 4: Sexual Reproduction,Chapter 5: Asexual Reproduction, and Chapter 6: From Seed to Seedling as the source text.Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 describe in detail the two major reproductive modes of invasive plants: sexual and asexual reproduction.Chapter 6 describes the growth and development process of plants from seed to seedling. This translation practice report aims to introduce the reproductive and developmental processes of invasive plants, and provide references for domestic researchers in related fields,so as to better cope with the risks caused by invasive plants and protect our biodiversity and national bio-security.This translation practice report consists of four chapters: translation task description, translation process description, translation case analysis and translation practice summary.Guided by the three principles of Skopos theory, the translator applies the translation strategies of domestication and foreignization, adopts literal translation and free translation to solve various problems encountered in the translation process, and selects typical cases for analysis from lexical and syntactic aspects. The translator hope that this practical project will provide useful reference for national bio-security researchers and agricultural science and technology translators. |
