Miami,Florida,is the region with the largest number and concentration of Cuban immigrants.This paper focuses on the Miami in the late 20 th century.First,the historical background of Cuban immigrants is expounded,the characteristics of Cuban immigrants in Miami are analyzed,and finally the political,economic and cultural achievements of Cuban immigrants in Miami are explained.The article consists of introduction,text and conclusion,in which the text is divided into three parts.The first part describes the background of Cuban immigration since the middle of the 20 th century.The first section mainly combs the causes of the four waves of Cuban immigrants in the United States,and analyzes the characteristics of each refugee wave.Finding that the causes of the Cuban migration wave are very complex,constantly considering the roles of Cuba and the United States.The second section provides a brief overview of the evolution of the American immigration policy towards Cuba,highlighting the Cuban immigration laws enacted by the United States since the 1950 s.The most influential were the Immigration and Nationality Act of1965,The Refugee Act of 1980 and the Immigration Act 1990.Then understand the evolution of American immigration policy to Cuba through different periods.The second part analyzes the characteristics of Cuban immigrants in Miami city.The first section describes the change of Cuban immigrant population from the perspectives of geographical distribution,migration flow and population size change,and finds that Miami city is the area of Cuban immigrant population in the United States.The second section through the analysis of the religious beliefs,autonomous organizations,families,women and customs of the Cuban immigrants,it is found that the Cuban immigrants in Miami still retain a part of the traditional way of life,from which we can see the Cuban social life before the Cuban Revolution.The third section from the double cultural identity,Spanish media,food culture and bilingual ability of four angles of Cuban immigrants how to cultural adaptation,found that Cuban immigrants changed part of the cultural tradition to adapt to the local culture,but they are not local cultural assimilation,still maintains a unique Cuban cultural identity.By analyzing the characteristics of Cuban immigrants,we can understand why Cuban immigrants have achieved great achievements in the political,economic and cultural fields.The third part describes the economic,political and cultural achievements of Cuban immigrants in Miami.Through the observation of the three development processes respectively,it can be found that Cuban immigrants in Miami also have an important influence on the economy,politics and culture of Miami,and even the political influence can be elevated to the central level.Cuban immigration is important for the development of Miami since the mid-20 th century.Through the investigation of this aspect,we can then make the analysis of the influence of immigrant groups on American cities.
