As people continue to pursue a rich life and spiritual prosperity, they also start to focus on improving their self-worth.How to be a better person and how to realize the most value of life has become a pressing concern. The author of Inner Mastery,Outer Impact is Hitendra Wadhwa,a professor at Columbia Business School. This book not only deals with the latest research results in psychology and behavioral economics, but also combines the wisdom of the ancients with the personal experience of great leaders and ordinary heroes to explain to readers how to achieve personal values by sticking to their hearts and thus influence the outside world. This translation practice report takes the English source text of Inner Mastery,Outer Impact as the original material.Due to the use of many long and complex sentences in the material, the translator encounters a lot of difficulties in the process of translation.Under the guidance of the three principles of Skopos theory, namely, the Skopos principle, the coherence principle and the faithfulness principle, this paper makes a case analysis of the Chinese translation of complex sentences, which mainly adopts five translation methods: sequential translation, reverse translation, split translation, transformation and synthesis.Through the translation of the text, the translator’s translation level, practical ability and knowledge base have been improved. The translator accurately conveys the ideas of the original text, helps readers better understand the differences between Chinese and English, and helps people explore the mysteries of life, understand themselves better, live an ideal life, and find their own gateway to success. At the same time, this study is conducive to the dissemination of relevant psychological knowledge and provides reference for the translation of relevant texts.
