Slavoj Zizek is a Slovenian scholar and one of the most important inheritors of the Lacanian tradition. He has long been committed to bridging Lacanian psychoanalytic theory and Marxist philosophy, merging psychoanalysis, subjectivity, ideology, and popular culture into a unique academic thought and political stance, making him one of the most dazzling international academic stars since the 1990 s.This thesis explores the basic concept of "ideological illusion" on the basis of following Zizek’s text, and explains Zizek’s object-a principle in depth: first, starting from the operation law of the subject’s desire,it clarifies the relationship between the object-a and the master signifier,The relationship between the Other and the subject.Through the analysis of the paradoxical logic of object a,it means the support of the unconscious symptom in the symbolic world of the ideological phantom of society, thereby explaining the inherent cynicism of the ideological phantom;and explaining the subject’s inner desire and "death drive" "Rules of operation. In ?i?ek’s theory, there is a close connection between the object a and the master signifier, the other, and the subject. At the same time, the master signifier is the subject’s identification with itself, and it is an indicator within the subject, indicating the subject’s imagination of itself. The big Other represents culture and social norms, and it is an indicator of the subject’s exterior, indicating the subject’s social identity and role. The subject refers to the actual individual, which is the bearer of the desire of the object a.Ideological illusion is another important concept that ?i?ek pays attention to,which refers to false ideas and values in society and culture.According to ?i?ek,the essence of ideological illusions is cynicism, because they are evasion and denial of the real world. The existence of ideological illusions leads to social injustice and exploitation because they obscure the truth and contradictions of reality.By redefining ideological illusions,?i?ek critically reveals the origin and nature of these illusions. He believes that the existence of ideological illusions is the denial and evasion of the truth. Therefore,to understand the core of ?i?ek’s radical political theory,we need to delve into his critique and redefinition of ideological illusions. The object of Zizek’s critique is mainly capitalist society and the limitations of modern political structures.Through his critical elaboration of Lacan’s philosophical theory of psychoanalysis,he provides new ideological and theoretical support for contemporary society. His research is of great significance for understanding Marxist philosophy and rethinking the problem of ideology. This dissertation explains the theoretical underpinnings and the direction of Zizek’s critique, exposes the inadequacies of his theoretical critique, and reinterprets the spiritual essence inherent in Marx’s ideological thought.
