Research On Graded Chinese Reading Materials Based On International Chinese Language Education Chinese Proficiency Rating Standard

Chinese as a second language reading materials are gradually welcomed by Chinese learners and become a kind of auxiliary reading materials for their extracurricular Chinese learning.The concept of "hierarchical reading" originated from abroad,and it was introduced late.At present,the number of Chinese graded books issued in the market is small,the quality is uneven,and the related research is relatively few.With reference to the newly released "International Chinese Language Education Chinese Proficiency Standards",this paper makes an all-round investigation of the Chinese characters,vocabulary and grammar from Level 1 to Level 3 in "Good Friends Chinese Graded Reading Material"(youth edition).At the same time,sentence length,material selection and exercises are included in the scope of investigation,and comprehensive research is carried out in an attempt to provide some practical suggestions and countermeasures for the compilation and use of graded Chinese reading materials in the future.The results show that the Chinese characters,vocabulary and grammar of Good Friends are highly matched with the International Chinese Language Education Chinese Proficiency Standards.The difficulty of Chinese characters,vocabulary difficulty and average sentence length are similar to the range of graded Chinese as a second language published in the market at present.The material content of the book is based on the "international" vision,based on the experiences of children at home and abroad,in line with the requirements of young learners as the target audience,readers can appreciate the cultural customs around the world through reading,which is the biggest advantage of the book.At the same time,the reading also has some shortcomings.First of all,Level 3 reading materials are close to Level 2 reading materials in terms of Chinese characters,vocabulary and average sentence length,and even lower than Level 2 reading materials in terms of difficulty,especially the types and quantities of Level 3 sentence patterns are relatively simple.Secondly,there is no uniform marking rule for reading new words,but some simple words are also marked.The recurrence rate of new words is low,and most new words only appear once in the text and never appear again.Third,the genre of reading is relatively simple,mainly narrative text.According to the above research results,the author puts forward some suggestions for the compilation of graded Chinese reading materials:emphasizing the recurrence rate of new words;Unified annotation standards for new words;Reading difficulty should be "step by step";A variety of genres;The source of the material is"international",and according to the characteristics of "Good Friends" put forward the use of suggestions:as an auxiliary YCT test materials;As a companion reading material for overseas primary and secondary school students’ Chinese classes;As an interesting Chinese reading book for overseas Chinese children for reference.
