| With the introduction of the “double reduction” policy,front-line teachers and scholars have been thinking and practicing a lot about how to reduce students’ assignment burden.This paper aims to develop and enhance students’ key competencies and to cultivate a“well-rounded person”,focusing on students’ learning conditions.The study was conducted to understand the students’ feelings and attitudes when completing English extra-curricular assignment in primary school,to investigate and analyze the problems in the current design of English extra-curricular assignment in primary school,and to further analyze the causes of the problems.To explore the innovativeness and effectiveness of the extra-curricular assignment design of primary school English in the context of key competencies,in an attempt to achieve the purpose of improving students’ language ability,learning ability,thinking quality and cultural character through the optimization of assignment design.At the same time,the inherent thinking of primary school English teachers’ assignment design is transformed to a certain extent to further enhance the innovation and effectiveness of teachers’ teaching.Through the survey,it is found that the current design of English extra-curricular assignment in primary school,there is a disconnect between the content of assignment and students’ actual life,the form of assignment is relatively single,the lack of hierarchical assignment design,the amount of assignment and the difficulty of assignment is not reasonable design,etc.After analyzing the reasons for these problems,based on the problems found,five principles of assignment design are proposed: goal-oriented directivity,interesting form,content of life,functional diversity,and The principles of difficulty stratification.Based on these principles,we provide front-line teachers with four kinds of ideas to optimize the design of English extra-curricular assignments in primary school through example assignments,such as language expression assignments,independent inquiry assignments,life appreciation assignments,and innovative integration assignments,and discuss the design of English extra-curricular assignments in primary school with harmonious unity of instrumentality and humanism. |
