This report is based on the Chinese-to-English translation project of the poverty alleviation-related reportage work Efforts Witnessed by the Mt.Kunlun(Chapter 1).The language used is simple yet engaging, highlighting the key features of reportage as both journalistic and literary.Drawing upon the principles of reportage translation, this report emphasizes the importance of credibility and acceptability as guiding principles for the translation project.By adhering to these principles, the report provides a reflection and summary of the translation. The principle of credibility refers to being responsible for the translated information and accurately retaining and conveying the information of the source text, avoiding misinterpretation from the target readers. The principle of acceptability emphasizes that the translation should comply with the linguistic and cultural norms of the target language,to ensure a fine and enjoyable reading experience for the target readers. This report believes that the principle of credibility is of guiding value in the translation of proper nouns transliterated from Uyghur, poverty alleviation terminologies, and quotations of the interview in the reportage translation. The principle of acceptability is of reference value for the translation of ethnic cultureloaded nouns, metaphors, and polysemous verbs in the reportage translation.Under the guidance of these two principles, this report carries out the case study to summarize applicable translation methods and techniques, hoping to provide references for similar translation projects in the future.
