Since the emergence of intuitionist ideas in the field of moral philosophy, the ideas of its various schools and its conception of justice have remained to influence subsequent associated doctrines for some time.Rawls is also not distinguished from the influence of intuitionism, and his use of moral intuition is reflected in numerous parts of his theory. However, not denouncing moral intuition does not mean not rejecting the intuitive view of justice.Rawls explicitly compared intuitionism as a concept of justice to a theory of justice as fairness, and dismissed it.Academic debates often regard Rawls’ s criticism of intuitionism as a purely moral-philosophical argument, which is refuted by the aforementioned facts.By analyzing Rawls’ s critique of intuitionism, this article makes it obvious that its ideas are based on an analysis of the intuitive view of justice.Rawls points out that the intuitive view of justice is a set of principles that may conflict with each other, but there is no priority rule to determine the order in which conflicts occur,so this view of justice does not really perform its role.Rawls’ s attempt to avoid using intuition as much as possible does avoid to some extent the overdependence of his theory on moral intuition, but it yet does not save his theory from falling into the same dilemma as the intuitionist view of justice. Thus,Rawls required some powerful theory, and most of the discussions related to this typically merely reveal that Rawls directed constructivism and constructed his own conception of justice on this basis. This article further shows that Rawls’ s reflective approach to balancing thought and his attempt to achieve a certain idea of justice in his later writings are also significant components of his transcendence of the intuitive view of justice.Rawls’ s attempt has naturally been encountered with various debates, and this article summarizes these complex views into a criticism of the balanced method of reflection and constructivist theory, and further analyzes the focus of these debates, summarizing them into three specific aspects: the objectivity of the concept of justice, the limits of the role of self-evident concepts, and the applicability of constructivism.Responding to these points of contention based on Rawls’ s theory can reaffirm the objectivity and rational core of Rawls’ s theory, and further clarify Rawls’ s successful attempt to transcend the intuitive view of justice.
