Preliminary Study On The View Of Public Justice:Questionnaire And Actuality

This research takes the view of individual development and define justice as basic objectives and conduct that the society follows in order to secure individuals’ survival and development. The earliest research about justice dates back to1965when Adams’researches on justice show that people’s outlook on justice has great influence on behavior and health, the mechanism of justice judgment has three models:the intuitional model, the rationalistic model, and the cognitive and emotional adjustment model.The major purpose of our research is developing justice view scale that suits Chinese, assessing and probing the characteristics of Chinese’justice view. Based on previous researches literature, open type survey and discussion of the experts, we construct the theoretical model of Chinese justice view, and established the scale for preliminary test according to four dimensions:chance justice, procedural justice, interpersonal justice and distributive justice. After item analysis and factor analysis of361questionnaires for reliability and validity analysis, we obtained the formal testing edition of scale of justice view, including21items. Statistical results show that the scale has good reliability and validity. Using the formal testing edition of scale assessed822people from different stratus of the society for confirmatory factor analysis, using equation of structure method to test the theoretical model of justice and found the scale has good construct validity. Meanwhile, using the formal testing scale assessed people with different age, residence, annual income per person in a family, education level and career to investigate characteristics of their justice view. Results show:(1) Justice view of the Chinese is a multidimensional psychological construct, from the view of individual development can be divided into four dimensions: chance justice, procedural justice, interpersonal justice and distributive justice.(2) Item analysis and exploratory factor analysis show that scale has good reliability and validity; confirmatory factor analysis show that the scale has good construct validity, all index reached assessment requirement, the scale can be used to assess justice view of Chinese.(3) In general, the total score of Chinese’justice view is high, exerting positive trend, further analysis show that there are significant difference on separate dimensions among people with different age, residence, annual income per person in a family, education level and career. On the dimensions of chance justice and procedural justice and total scores, subjects who are over25score significantly lower than subjects under25. On the dimensions of interpersonal justice and distributive justice, subjects with different education level show significant difference. On the dimension of chance justice, subjects with different residence show significant difference. On the dimension of interpersonal justice, subjects with different annual income per person in a family show significant difference. Subjects with different career have significant difference on all four dimensions.
