Energy has played a crucial role in the national economy,making itself the material basis for the development of human society.It is worth noting that the environment has been polluted when the traditional fossil fuel energy is used to meet the increasing energy demand.Recent years have witnessed the energy transition and the use of renewable energy.The United Nations stresses the necessity of renewable energy.China shoulders its responsibility by accelerating the achievement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals in the 14 th Five-Year Plan.Some industries with high-energy consumption hence have paved the way for energy transition,especially the aviation industry.The translation task is the E-C translation of an original English book Airport Renewable Energy Projects Inventory and Case Examples(2020),and Chapter Two“Considerations for Renewable Energy and Airports” has been selected as the translation material.The source text belongs to aviation technical texts.It mainly introduces a comparable path of development that all airport renewable energy projects must follow.The translator analyzes the source text and the translated version from five dimensions of Koller’s translation Equivalence Theory.Denotation and Connotation Equivalence help to identify and translate scientific words.Pragmatic Equivalence helps to translate the long attributive clause and passive voice.Text-normative Equivalence and Formal-aesthetic Equivalence help to translate the demonstrative pronoun and add the essential information in the task.Typical cases are selected for analyses,hoping to provide experience for future translation tasks of airport and renewable energy fields.This translation task includes an original idea.It makes a valuable exploration on the aviation technical text translation.From the perspective of Koller’s translation Equivalence Theory,some texts which belong to literature and economic fields have been translated.Nevertheless,it is quite unusual in the aviation technical field.Guiding by Koller’s theory,the feasibility of translating this type of text is worth exploring.
