Grassland painting school is an important art group formed in Inner Mongolia ethnic areas after the founding of New China.This is a typical blend of grassland culture and farming culture,traditional culture and modern culture in the development process of Chinese art,and has become a main content of modern grassland culture and art in Inner Mongolia.Oil painting in Inner Mongolia began after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.For a long period of time,fine art works themed on grassland culture never stopped and gradually emerged from its own characteristic artistic style.Because of the unique form language and aesthetic expression of the grassland painting school,it has made many proud achievements in the Chinese art circle,adding a strong and heavy color to the Chinese oil painting creation.It is particularly important to discuss the development of the grassland painting school in detail and analyze its cause and influence value in the later period in order to explore the path of ethnic art innovation.This paper discusses the grassland painting school and grassland culture,sorts out the expression content of the grassland painting school in each stage in the context of time,analyzes its aesthetic characteristics and formal language from the perspective of ethnic aesthetics,explores its cultural connotation,and probes into its inheritance and development in the modern cultural background and other related issues.This paper mainly consists of five parts: first,how the grassland painting school formed and developed;second,it summarizes the development process and the content of the grassland painting school’s oil painting in different periods;The third is the aesthetic analysis of grassland painting school oil painting,from the aesthetic point of view,to explore the object of the study has what aesthetic character,clear its artistic characteristics,the fourth is to explore the grassland painting school oil painting form language;The fifth is to discuss the inheritance and development of grassland painting school oil painting and its contemporary significance.Among them,the third,fourth and fifth parts are the focus of this paper.The third part analyzes the aesthetic psychology of grassland painters and the aesthetic implication of their works from the perspective of ethnic aesthetics.The fourth part,through the origin relationship between grassland culture and grassland painting school,explores the formal language causes and forms of expression of grassland painting school oil painting.The fifth part discusses how to inherit and develop the grassland painting school and its contemporary significance and value on the basis of formal language.In the course of its historical development,the grassland ethnic groups in Inner Mongolia have gradually formed their own artistic values and nurtured the grassland painting school in the long process of creation,which provides us with a precious material for in-depth understanding of the ethnic culture and art in Inner Mongolia.At the same time,it also shows that the ethnic character contained in it still exists in modern art.On this basis,The paper discusses the artistic characteristics and cultural value of grassland painting school oil painting from many angles,hoping to open up a new way for the development of local art.
