Study Of Dialectal Phonetics In Hubei Local Chronicles

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the newly revised local chronicles included a wealth of dialect materials.This paper relies on the "Hubei Local chronicle Dialect Database" to study the dialect phonetic content in 181 Hubei local chronicles:In the introduction part of the thesis,the local chronicle dialect materials are defined in time and space,the research object and scope of the article are clarified,the research significance is clarified,and the research methods and status are introduced.In the basic part of the research,it sorts out the dialect divisions and dialect attributions recorded or discussed in 147 local chronicles.Compare with the division results of "Hubei Dialect Survey Report","Hubei Dialect Profile","Chinese Language Atlas" and "Hubei Provincial Chronicle·Dialect",83 dialect points are established based on the actual situation of dialects in Hubei local chronicles.Using the framework of "three clusters" and "four sub-clusters",the dialect phonetic materials collected in Hubei local chronicles were comprehensively counted,and the dialect phonetic content of provincial chronicles,city and county(district)chronicles,and dialect chronicles were summarized.To study the initial consonants of Hubei local chronicles dialects,select Gong’an,Shishou,Honghu,Yunxi,Zhushan,Shiyan,Xiangyang,Suixian,Enshi,Jingmen,Jingzhou,Wuhan,Jiangxia Zhifang,Caidian,Yichang,Dawu,Ezhou Chengqu,Huanggang,Huangshi,Xiaogan,Guangshui,Huangmei,Jianli,Jiangxia Husi,Xianning,Ezhou Taihe,Tongcheng,64 local chronicles of 27 dialect points.Summarize the system and characteristics of initial consonant,and use the internal evidence method to sort out the similarities and differences of the dialect initials within and between each dialect cluster.Using the method of external evidence,the conclusions of dialect survey reports,dialect maps,related research papers and monographs are compared with the local chronicles dialect phonetics.This chapter draws three common features of "Alveolar and retroflex initials are mixed","MC Kaikou 2nd division of Jian 见 initial groups retains pronunciation of velars","Different pronunciation from Mandarin of the MC Kaikou 2nd division of Yí 疑initial" and 17 differential features such as "[x] and [f] are mixed",etc.The study of finals in Hubei local chronicles summarize the final systems and characteristics of 27 dialect points,find out 6 common features including "[??] [i?]finals mix into [?n] [in] finals","[uan] [u?n] [uei] finals of Mandarin lose glide[u]",etc,and 24 differential features such as "[u] finals of Mandarin read as [?u/ou]".The study of tones in Hubei local chronicles describe and compare the number,mould,pitch and variation of the tones in 137 local chronicles.Put forward the viewpoint of Yicheng,Baokang and Shennongjia Linqu should be divided into Ebei dialect sub-cluster.The phonetic features described in this paper provide new evidence for the immigration route of "Jiangxi filling Huguang",and put forward the prospect of dialect field investigation and dialect compilation of local chronicles in Hubei in the future;However,the explanation of the distribution and causes of phonetic characteristics of each dialect point are not sufficient.
