| The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)of the Ministry of Education advocates to fully excavate the value of education around the unit theme,establish the unit education goal and teaching main line,form the integrated,relevant and developmental unit education blueprint,and plan a series of teaching activities with the unit teaching goal as the guide,so as to develop ability and form literacy.This study is based on the overall language teaching view,Krashen’s language input hypothesis theory and Swain’s language output hypothesis theory,and comprehensively uses video analysis and in-depth interview methods to select nine teaching examples that implement learning activities around the unit’s overall teaching,and uses Nvivo12.0 video analysis software to conduct classroom video analysis of learning activities,and conducts in-depth interviews with five primary school English teachers.Based on an overview of the design process of learning activities in the overall teaching of primary English units,this study analyzes the learning and understanding activities,application and practice activities and transfer and innovation activities in the overall teaching of primary English units,and finally puts forward suggestions for the implementation of a series of learning activities in the overall teaching of primary English units.Through analysis,it is found that the three major types of English learning activities have their own characteristics in the implementation process.In the learning and understanding activities,teachers pay attention to letting students guess around the text theme and simply express their feelings by perceiving pictures,videos and other forms.In the application practice activities,teachers pay attention to letting students use language comprehensively through role playing,mind mapping and other forms.In the category of migration and innovation activities,teachers focus on creating dialogues and putting forward new solutions,so that students can reasonably create and share with the reality of life.Based on the findings,the following suggestions are put forward for the implementation of learning activities in the overall teaching of English units in primary schools:first,set learning objectives based on themes and oriented to evaluation:refine the objectives based on themes,optimize the objectives based on learning conditions,and point to the goal of output solidification;Second,create meaningful learning situations based on life:analyze the unit learning materials,refine the core issues of the unit,and closely relate to the reality of life;Third,design multiple and effective forms of learning activities:design learning task list and promote unit pragmatic tasks;Fourth,use progressive and diverse types of learning activities to design three major types of learning activities:learning and understanding,application and practice,and transfer and innovation. |
