Research On The Construction Of China’S National Image From The Perspective Of Cross-Cultural Communication

In today’s context of globalization,national image,as a soft power,plays a pivotal role in the competition of comprehensive national strength,so the construction and dissemination of national image,especially how to achieve cross-cultural communication internationally,is particularly important.Building a good national image internationally helps to improve a country’s international credibility and status.Building a good and positive national image in the international community will help enhance China’s international status in the world,thereby facilitating the smooth implementation of China’s foreign policy.As the first high-quality documentary co-produced by China and foreign countries to be launched from a bird’s eye perspective," China from Above" has been spread to hundreds of overseas countries and regions through the international platform of National Geographic,and has received enthusiastic response,and is a successful cross-cultural dissemination of Chinese-themed documentaries.The documentary tells a series of Chinese stories from multiple angles,all-round and three-dimensional,and successfully builds a positive national image of "lovely,amiable and respectable" in the hearts of many overseas people,as a phenomenal high-quality cooperative documentary with the role of promoting the national image,the research of "China from Above" has important reference significance for us to build a national image through the production of international-level documentaries in the future.This paper focuses on "China from Above",analyzes the good image of China in terms of history and culture,man and nature,scientific and technological development,and social livelihood based on the cross-cultural overseas communication of the documentary series,and finally draws important enlightenments.In order to build a positive and three-dimensional image of China,we can: combine international perspectives with Chinese stories;Diversified narrative perspectives,comprehensively constructing a positive image of China in three dimensions;The form and content are skillfully combined to show colorful Chinese stories in an all-round way;Strengthen cooperation at home and abroad,join forces,and jointly launch high-quality works;Expand communication channels in various aspects and enhance the international dissemination of cultural products;Be guided by the audience’s attention and establish a dialogue space to meet their needs.
