Wangdui Temple(dBon stod dgon)in Wangbuting Township(dBon po stod shang),Derge County(sDe dge)is located on a highland on the east bank of the Jinsha River which separatesDerge County and Jiangda County,Chamdo,Tibet Autonomous Region. There are two remains of murals in Wangdui Temple, one is located in the old assembly hall and the other is located in the Baizhu hall(Ka brgya lha khang). The murals in the old assembly hall are from the second half of the 15 th century, and the murals in the Baizhu Hall are from the early 18 th century, while both mural remains are related to the Sakya Ngor sect. The Baizhu Hall of Wangdui Temple is earlier than the temples which are under the influence of the Ngor sect, such as the Derge Parkhang and Yena Temple. And its mural style is deeply influenced by the s Man gsar painting style, while retaining a relatively conservative layout and the early elements, considering many special features of the Baizhu Hall of Wangdui Temple, which are all indicating that the Baizhu Hall of Wangdui Temple should be a symbolic historical relic remarking that Derge Tusi reached a new stage of faith in the Ngor sect. This article takes the murals of the Baizhu Hall of Wangdui Temple as the research object, describing and identifying the contents of the murals, discussing the artistic style of the murals with regional characteristics, and combining the history of the Derge area from the 15 th to the 18 th century with the spread and influence of the Ngor sect in Derge during the same period, and then discusses the theme and function of the Baizhu Hall of Wangdui Temple.
