the Tibetan Buddhism thangka Painting Art is main componentof the Bzo Rig Pa among the five major sciences and the five minor sciences.From the beginning of rock painting five or six thousand years ago to the emergence of local painting schools in the early 13 th century AD,it can be said that it is a cultural innovation process of continuous absorption and transformation.Tibetan thangka art is not only limited to a religious form of artistic expression,but also contains Tibetan history,culture,medicine,calendar calculation,architecture,folk customs,as well as Tibetan Buddhism's complex system of Buddhas,Bodhisattvas,Dharma protectorates and other gods,it may be said all-inclusive and encyclopaedia of Tibetan culture.To 15 Century,appeared in the history of Tibetan s Man Lha Dun Grub was founded s Man Thang painting,and personally wrote the introduction to the measurement of Buddha statues called b De War g Shegs Pa s Ku Gzugs Kyi Cha Tsad Rad Du Byed Pa Yidshin Norbu,according to research,the theory monograph is found the first work of native Tibetan wrote about the statue of measurement on today,also is indispensable to study Tibetan Buddhist painting art classic.This paper,based on a large number of relevant Tibetan literature and the achievements in the research field at home and abroad in the past decade,as well as field research and other methods,organized and analyzed the history and artistic style of s Man Thang school:First of all,the content of drawing thangka in the three theoretical classics,such as Kalachakra(m Chog Gi Dangpo'i Sangrgyas Las Phyung Pa r Gyud Kyi Rgyal Po),Chakrasamvara(d Pal b De m Chog a Byung Wa Shes Bya'i r Gyud Kyi Rgyal Po),Sha'v Ri'i Bu Shus Pa'i m Do and so on,is analyzed and summarized in detail about the Thangka Painting.Traditionally,Tibetan thangka art,as a religious ritual,is painted in accordance with the size of each part of Buddha,bodhisattva,dharma protection and other deities,as well as the color of the face and body,the sitting posture,and the dharma objects held by these theories.At the same time,as a qualified painter during the painting of thangka need to abide by a few rules and regulations,have made a detailed explanation and put forward their own humble opinion.Secondly,as a unique art form of Tibetan painting,the origin and type of thangka,the traditional way of painting,and the analysis of the word "thangka",as well as the existing problems in the study of thangka and the formation of the historical context of Tibetan painters are analyzed and studied.Finally,as the core research content of this paper,the first part makes a profound and detailed research on the life history of s Man Lha Dun Grub,the founder of Sman Thang school of painting,the history,culture and religious background of his age.Secondly,as the founder of a generation of painting schools,s Man Lha Dun Grub studied in detail the main murals and thangka works left by him in U and tsang areas,as well as related issues such as his school inheritance and major disciples.Thirdly,style is the main artistic feature of a painting art,whether it is its way of composition,tonal collocation,decorative style of picture,external mounting form,etc.Similarly,s Man Thang school of painting also has its unique way of expression.Through the combination of material comparison and literature,the unique artistic style of this school of painting has been combed and studied in detail.
